How Donations Help Us!

Caring for the elderly is both a privilege and a responsibility, a journey marked by love, patience, and compassion.

In line with the exhortation “… to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation …,” the goal of Jah-Jireh is to provide a safe, loving, and spiritual environment for Jehovah’s Witnesses in their later years.

You, dear friends, have played an integral role in this care through your volunteer spirit and donations that have helped greatly. Through this article, we wanted to show you how your donations are used and how they help in the care of our elderly residents.

Our Elderly Deserve Our Compassion

Watching our parents and older friends, who were once strong and independent, face the difficulties of aging can be heart-wrenching. Health issues, loss of mobility, and cognitive changes are all part of the aging process. The Bible's wisdom, as seen in Job 14:1, highlights these aging challenges, leaving us with the question, "How can we offer support and care?"

For both caregivers and recipients of care, compassion is fundamental. Jehovah provides reassurance to older ones that He will never forsake those who remain loyal to Him. He promises to sustain, support, and guide them through their senior years (Isaiah 46:4). Whether we are their children or individual Christians, it's a wonderful privilege to share in this care.

How does Jah-Jireh use donations?

Your contributions help create a warm and welcoming environment for our elderly ones, and your donations have a tangible impact on the lives of elderly Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jah-Jireh is a private, non-profit establishment that does not receive government funding or subsidies.

All of the expenses of the home are paid through the fees that the residents pay for residence and care. Sometimes we have large maintenance projects that need to be done. Especially because Jah-Jireh is an older building. We use your valuable donations to help offset the cost of these major projects and other needed renovations at the home.

Your donations are precious to us, and all the funds received go back into the operation of the home. The Board of Directors, who do not receive any wages from the home, diligently ensure that your donations are used effectively in ensuring quality care of our dear residents.

How Your Donations And Willing Spirit Are Helping

An example of a project, the cost of which can be offset by donations, is our recent kitchen renovation project. The kitchen needed a complete overhaul to ensure safety and functionality. We had to install all new metal counters and shelving, a new industrial fridge, flooring, tiles, and more. Here are some Before and After pictures:

The project would have cost us a lot more, but thanks to the willing spirit of many brothers and sisters who volunteered their time and materials, we were able to keep the cost of this project at $25,000.00. Your donations will help greatly in projects like this.

Renovations planned for this year:

  • We are currently in the process of tearing out our old heating system and replacing it. The cost of this is $65,000.00.

  • Our pond that has provided a spot of calm and respite to our residents over the years is in need of repair. We have continued to patch it each year, but it has reached a state where it needs to be torn out and redone. We hope to be able to take this project up in the spring.

Thank You Very Much

Your contributions are making a making a significant impact on the lives of dear older ones who have lived their lives faithfully in Jehovah’s service. The continued support of all of you friends is helping us to maintain this retirement home that we hope will bring solace to many more faithful elderly ones. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude. Thank You.
